Senior Accounting Associate

As a Senior Accounting Associate at our accounting firm, you will play a crucial role in providing high-level financial expertise and overseeing various accounting operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Your role will involve collaborating with clients and providing guidance on complex accounting issues.
Main Responsibilities
The main objective is to comply with the submission of clients’ financial statements timely and accurately and meet with clients regularly.
Compile and organize data provided by clients, such as invoices, receipts, bank
statements.
Record financial transactions in the accounting software.
Evaluate and analyze
financial and operating reports and data.
Reconcile bank statements and implement actions to resolve discrepancies.
Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records.
Coordinate with the Tax Department and other business lines as necessary.
Comply with US GAAP and ethics.
Special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Maintain the chart of accounts.
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system.
Ensure all the service tickets show the real and correct status.
Perform accounting functions to support supervisors.
Submit accurate Timesheet weekly.
Use and maintain updated records of the tasks at the corresponding technological solutions used (Canopy or any other according to IT instructions).
Other related duties as assigned.
Lead a Team of Junior Accountants when assigned; being responsible for their performance and development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
GPA or General Average: ≥ 8
Competency in QuickBooks is a plus.
Prior experience in accounting is preferred
to be at least 4
years.
Bilingual- English and Spanish
