Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Senior Manager at our accounting firm, you will play a crucial role in providing high-level financial expertise and overseeing various accounting operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. Your role will involve collaborating with clients and providing guidance on complex accounting issues.

Main Responsibilities

The main objective is to comply with the submission of clients’ financial statements timely and accurately and meet with clients regularly.

  • Compliance and Regulations. Ensure your team’s adherence to accounting principles, industry regulations, and legal requirements, such as GAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulations. 

  • Delivery. Ensure Financial Statements are delivered on time. The accounting service is considered past due if it is not delivered 20 days after the current service period. Example: June Monthly service is past due if financial statements have not been delivered by July 21

  • Process Improvement. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls. Implement best practices and recommend software tools to optimize financial operations.

  • Technology Integration. Stay updated with accounting software and technology advancements. Leverage technology tools to automate routine tasks and enhance financial reporting and analysis. 

  • Internal communication. Maintains permanent communication with the tax department to coordinate efforts and be alert to their accounting requirements so that our customers’ tax obligations are filled in a timely manner.

Team Management

The Accounting Senior Manager supervises and mentors the Accounting Manager and its team and – in some cases - a team of Accounting Associates and/or Senior Accounting Associates, reviewing their work, providing guidance, fostering their professional development, and ensuring they complete their delegated tasks by the due dates.

Tasks

  • Ensure all associated accounting service tickets always have the updated Technical Rep as an assigned resource and as the ticket owner--removing any Account Rep that is no longer a part of that client's accounting service.

  • Evaluate the team's capacity, ensuring work is properly distributed among all accountants.

  • Review and approve Timesheets weekly submissions.

  • Complete and submit the Employee Evaluation form for all their team members every 6 months.

  • Become the Team’s reference for doubts, requests and any question that may arise individually or as a Team.

Client Management 

  • Make the Onboarding of new clients through meetings with potential clients to evaluate needs and requirements and determine services to be offered by Jambrina. 

  • Participate in meetings with new and current clients periodically.

  • Involve in all situations where the client may have any claim or comment regarding Jambrina’s services provided.

  • Regarding current clients, optimize profitability and detect not profitable clients.

  • Assign new clients to the team according to his/her criteria and job burden. 

  • Accounting clients require hour-budgeting specific to the service cycle (e.g., hourly budget defined at a monthly rate for monthly accounting services, hourly budget defined at a quarterly rate for quarterly accounting services, etc.).  

The Accounting Senior Manager should:

  • In case of discrepancies between the budgeted hours and actual hours, the Accounting Manager should inform the Accounting Director to coordinate the actions needed with the billing department. 

  • Monitor the Customer balance with our firm. Inform the billing department in case of 3 consecutive open invoices. Credit holds will be evaluated by the billing responsible.

  • Monitor the team’s performance supported by IT reports / Dashboard.

  • Have full command of IT solutions used in the Accounting area.

  • Identify and submit proposals for process improvements, if needed.

  • Be responsible for the compliance of regulations under the terms of ISO 9001.

  • Ensure the Accounting team provides timely and accurate information to the Tax Department for use in Tax planning and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

  • GPA or General Average: ≥ 8

  • Competency in QuickBooks is a plus.

  • Prior experience in accounting is preferred to have at least +8 years.

  • Proved experience in Team Management.

  • Bilingual- English and Spanish
